Overview

The Slingshot LTF V2 is an inflatable wing foil board built around a progression-first concept. LTF stands for "Learn to Fly," and the board is designed to take riders from their first sessions with a wing — using traditional fins and no foil — through to their first flights on a hydrofoil, all on the same platform. Slingshot positions it as one of the first inflatable foil boards to include both foil mounting tracks and keel fin slots, making it a two-stage learning tool rather than a single-purpose board.

The V2 is the second generation of the LTF, offered in 180 L and 210 L sizes. Its inflatable drop-stitch construction makes it portable and forgiving on falls, while a stiff carbon bottom plate provides a solid foil connection point when riders are ready to mount a hydrofoil. Each board ships with a travel bag, pump, patch kit, twin fins, and the sUP WINDer keel fin.

Who It's For

The LTF V2 targets riders at the very beginning of their wing foiling journey. Its high volume and wide outline deliver the kind of stability that keeps the board flat even when a rider shifts weight toward the rails — a common issue for newcomers still finding their balance. The intended workflow is straightforward: start by attaching the included twin fins and keel fin to learn wing handling and board control on flat water, then swap to a hydrofoil once those fundamentals are solid.

Because both sizes sit at 180 L and above, the board suits heavier riders or anyone who values extra flotation during the learning phase. The inflatable format also makes it practical for travelers or riders without roof racks. That said, once a rider progresses past the early foiling stage and wants to work on carving, pumping, or riding in waves, the high volume and inflatable construction become limiting factors. The LTF V2 is a dedicated learning platform, not an all-rounder.

In the Lineup

Within Slingshot's inflatable wing board range, the LTF V2 sits alongside the Tracker and the I-Fly. The Tracker is geared toward riders who are already foiling and want an inflatable travel option with lower volume and more performance-oriented shaping, while the I-Fly targets a similar beginner demographic but in a different form factor. The LTF V2 occupies the entry-level, maximum-stability slot in the lineup.

Compared to the original LTF V1, the V2 carries over the same core concept but arrives as Slingshot's updated production version. Outside the Slingshot range, the closest comparison is the Fanatic Sky SUP Foil inflatable, another high-volume inflatable board with foil compatibility aimed at learners. The LTF V2's distinguishing feature remains its dual fin-and-foil mounting system, which few inflatable competitors replicate in a single package.
