Overview

The Slingshot One-Lock Aluminum Mast is an extruded 6061-grade aluminum foil mast built for Slingshot's proprietary One-Lock connection system. Designed as the most accessible mast option within the One-Lock lineup, it pairs a low-drag profile with a toolless assembly approach that Slingshot shares across its carbon and high-modulus carbon masts. The mast ships with a protective cover and an RTS (Rapid Track System) mounting kit, and it spans five lengths from 52 cm to 92 cm in 10 cm increments — the broadest size range of any mast in the One-Lock family.

Slingshot uses an extruded collar that is potted directly onto the bottom of the mast rather than fastened with screws. This internal connection keeps all fuselage seams away from water flow, which is intended to reduce vibration and improve glide. The 118 mm chord matches the profile shape of Slingshot's carbon One-Lock masts but with added wall thickness to maintain stiffness in aluminum.

Who It's For

This mast targets riders entering the One-Lock ecosystem who want a functional, lower-cost alternative to carbon. It suits kite foiling, wing foiling, and wake foiling — all three disciplines Slingshot supports within the One-Lock platform. The wide size range makes it practical for riders who need different mast lengths for varying water depths or riding styles without investing in multiple carbon masts.

Beginners and intermediate riders will find the aluminum construction forgiving enough for everyday use while still offering responsive handling. The 52 cm length works well for wake foiling or shallow-water sessions behind a boat or at a cable park, while the longer 82 cm and 92 cm options provide the ride height that wing and kite foilers typically need in open water. Because the mast uses the same One-Lock collar interface as the carbon options, riders can start here and move to a stiffer carbon mast later without replacing their wings or fuselage.

In the Lineup

Within Slingshot's One-Lock mast range, the Aluminum Mast sits below the One-Lock Carbon Mast and the One-Lock High Modulus Carbon Mast. Each step up brings increased stiffness and reduced weight, with corresponding price increases. The aluminum version is positioned as the value entry point — its pricing allows riders to feasibly own multiple lengths, which is harder to justify at carbon price points.

Compared to aluminum foil masts from other brands, the One-Lock Aluminum Mast is notable for its proprietary toolless connection rather than the bolt-together assembly common elsewhere. Riders already committed to or considering the One-Lock wing and fuselage ecosystem will find this the most budget-friendly way in. Those prioritizing top-end speed and minimal flex at longer mast lengths should look at Slingshot's carbon options instead.
