The Slingshot One-Lock Flare Tail is a high-aspect-ratio rear stabilizer built for the Slingshot One-Lock modular foil system. It uses a monobloc construction approach, meaning the tail wing and fuselage are a single integrated unit rather than separate bolt-together components. This one-piece design prioritizes stiffness and aerodynamic efficiency over the adjustability found in traditional two-piece stabilizer setups. Built from high-modulus carbon fiber with hand-finished fillets for clean hydrodynamic flow, the Flare Tail is the lowest-drag, shortest-fuselage option in the current One-Lock stabilizer range.
Slingshot positions the Flare Tail as a performance-oriented stabilizer tuned for acceleration and pumping efficiency. Who It's For
The Flare Tail is aimed squarely at advanced riders. Riders accustomed to a forgiving, push-off-the-tail style of turning will find the Flare much less predictable than a larger stabilizer. Slingshot notes the Flare's fuselage is roughly five inches shorter than the Turbo's, which accounts for much of the handling difference. For riders who find the Turbo too stable or draggy, the Flare is the next step; for those who find the Flare too nervous, the Turbo is the safer pick.
Because the Flare uses Slingshot's proprietary One-Lock latch connection, it is only compatible with One-Lock front wings and masts — there is no cross-brand interchangeability. Riders already invested in the One-Lock ecosystem can swap between Flare and Turbo tails on the water without tools, which is one of the system's central selling points.
