Overview

The Slingshot One-Lock Flow Front Wing is Slingshot's high-aspect entry in their modular One-Lock foil system, built for riders who prioritize glide, efficiency, and speed across disciplines. Designed for wing foiling, prone foiling, downwind runs, and wake foiling, the Flow sits at the performance end of Slingshot's One-Lock lineup. It uses a consistent 11:1 aspect ratio across all sizes, pairing a long, narrow planform with tapered, twisted wingtips that aim to balance forward drive during pumping with responsive turning.

The Flow is part of Slingshot's screwless One-Lock attachment system, which uses a single lever-and-collar mechanism to lock the front wing to the fuselage without tools. The fuselage halves use a wedge-shaped nesting design that tightens under load, maintaining stiffness comparable to bolted connections while allowing quick swaps between sessions or even mid-session.

Who It's For

The Flow targets intermediate to advanced foilers looking to step into high-aspect performance. Its elevated aspect ratio delivers efficient glide and a wide usable speed range, but comes with a higher stall speed than Slingshot's mid-aspect Glide series. Riders need to maintain momentum to keep the wing performing, which suits those comfortable pumping onto foil and linking swells or waves rather than relying on low-speed lift.

The smaller 600 and 800 sizes favor lighter riders or higher-wind conditions where top-end speed and maneuverability matter most. The 1000 and 1200 open up lighter wind capability and more accessible pumping thanks to increased surface area, while retaining the same high-aspect planform. Dock-start and pump foiling are also within the Flow's intended use cases, as indicated by Slingshot's inclusion of the wing in dedicated pump foil packages.

In the Lineup

Within the One-Lock system, the Flow occupies the high-performance tier above the Glide and Ease front wings. The Ease is Slingshot's all-around option with a lower aspect ratio suited to beginners and intermediates. The Glide series offers a mid-aspect design with a surfy, low-stall-speed character tuned for wave riding and accessible freeride use. The Flow steps beyond both, trading some low-end forgiveness for substantially more glide and efficiency at speed. Slingshot positions the Flow's speed range as bridging the gap between the Glide 925's low end and the Glide 725's high end, giving riders a single wing that covers a broad performance window.

For buyers cross-shopping other brands, the Flow 800 competes in a similar space to other high-aspect wings in the 800 cm² class from brands like Armstrong and Axis, where aspect ratios in the 10–12 range are standard for performance-oriented prone and downwind foiling.
