Overview

The Slingshot One-Lock Verse Tail 270 is a foil stabilizer built for maximum roll stability across wing, kite, wake, and dock-pump foiling. Part of Slingshot's 2025 One-Lock ecosystem, the Verse 270 uses a tool-free latch mechanism that clicks directly into any One-Lock mast collar, eliminating screws and simplifying on-water setup changes. Its defining design feature is a pronounced dihedral curve through the center section that transitions to anhedral at the wingtips — a geometry that generates self-correcting lift whenever the foil begins to roll off-axis.

Slingshot sets the Verse 270 at a fixed -2.25° shim angle, which sustains positive rear-wing lift even at low speeds. That preset angle, combined with the 270 cm² surface area, keeps the foil platform level without constant rider input and makes early flights more predictable.

Who It's For

The Verse Tail 270 targets beginner-to-intermediate foilers who need a confidence-building rear wing while they develop board control, pumping technique, and turning skills. Its large surface area and auto-stabilizing geometry reduce the amount of active correction a rider has to make, letting newer pilots focus on wave selection and body positioning rather than fighting roll instability.

More experienced riders may also reach for the Verse 270 when pairing it with high-lift front wings in light-wind or dock-pump sessions, where low-speed stability matters more than outright speed. If a rider already feels comfortable on foil and wants less drag or sharper turning response, Slingshot's smaller stabilizers will be a better match.

In the Lineup

Slingshot currently offers three One-Lock stabilizer tails, each occupying a distinct slot. The Turbo Tail 180, at 180 cm² and a -2.75° angle, is positioned as the versatile all-around option with lower drag and quicker response. The Carve Tail 200, at 200 cm² with a -1.5° angle and upturned wingtips, is tuned for high-speed kite foiling where minimal drag and tail grip are priorities. The Verse 270 sits at the stability end of the spectrum — largest area, most forgiving behavior, and the clearest beginner orientation of the three.

All three share Slingshot's mid-modulus carbon and fiberglass construction and the same One-Lock latch interface, so swapping between them on the water takes seconds. Riders progressing through the lineup would typically start on the Verse 270 and graduate toward the Turbo 180 as their balance and confidence improve.
