Overview
The Slingshot SlingWing V6 is the sixth generation of Slingshot Sports' flagship all-around inflatable wing, released for the 2026 model year. Designed for freeride, swell riding, and downwind wing foiling, the V6 retains the proven outline and profile shape of its predecessor while introducing a segmented strut design and an updated radial panel layout. These changes produce a tighter canopy with less drag and smoother aerodynamic transitions. The wing ships with Slingshot's ClickConnect carbon boom, which clicks onto the strut without tools — grip handles are no longer offered. A rigid TPU leading-edge handle provides leverage for roll-axis control during free-flying and transitions, and larger forward windows improve downwind visibility.
Construction relies on Slingshot's 4X4 Canopy Tech, a reinforced ripstop nylon that resists tearing and minimizes stretch. Panel materials include Code95 and Code 55P fabrics chosen for dimensional stability and resistance to canopy bagging over time. Optimized fiberglass battens along the trailing edge keep the canopy flutter-free, while reinforced patches on the leading-edge seams guard against chafing. Two SUP-style valves handle inflation and allow rapid deflation for packing down.

Who It's For
The SlingWing V6 targets a broad rider profile, from intermediate foilers who have moved past the learning phase to experienced riders looking for a single wing that covers multiple disciplines. Its decreased wingtip angle of attack gives it a stable, locked-in feel when foiling upwind, while the reduced dihedral in the leading edge limits roll oscillation — both traits that help progressing riders build confidence. At the same time, the wing handles jumps, freestyle tricks, and wave riding without feeling sluggish or over-damped.
With ten sizes spanning 2.0 m² to 6.5 m², the line covers a wide wind range. The tighter canopy profile favors moderate-to-strong conditions, though riders can reduce inflation pressure by roughly one PSI to gain elasticity and low-end grunt in lighter wind. Riders who prioritize a single do-everything wing over a specialized quiver will find the V6 a practical choice.
In the Lineup
The SlingWing V6 sits at the center of Slingshot's 2026 wing range as the brand's primary all-around offering. It shares the lineup with the SlingWing NXT V2, which fills a more entry-level or crossover role. Slingshot also pairs the V6 with the new Glide Craft board, a tri-surface displacement-planing hull designed for easy takeoffs and pitch stability — a complementary match for the V6's balanced handling.
Compared to other all-round wings at a similar price point, the V6 competes with options like the Duotone Unit and the F-ONE Strike V4. Its segmented strut and boom-only configuration distinguish it from competitors that still offer dual grip-and-boom setups. For riders already in the Slingshot ecosystem, the V6 is a straightforward upgrade from the V5, sharing the same outline but delivering a cleaner canopy and improved free-fly behavior.
