Overview

The Slingshot UltraFly is a V1-generation inflatable wing foil board from Slingshot Sports, available in 105 L, 120 L, and 140 L sizes. As an inflatable design, it targets portability and reduced swing weight while aiming to deliver stiff, responsive foiling performance closer to what riders expect from rigid boards. Slingshot built the UltraFly around three proprietary design elements: the Rapid Release System, AeroSlim Frame, and Max Trax foil track. Together, these features address common pain points with inflatable foil boards — namely water release at takeoff, foot-to-foil distance, and foil positioning flexibility.

The Rapid Release System uses a 90-degree lip on the trailing edge to prevent water from wrapping around the tail during takeoff, reducing the suction effect that can keep inflatable boards stuck to the surface. The AeroSlim Frame is a progressive thickness concept that makes the smaller sizes proportionally thinner, shortening the distance between the rider's feet and the foil for more direct control. Max Trax is Slingshot's extended-length foil track system, designed to give riders a wide range of foil placement options for tuning balance and lift characteristics.

Who It's For

Slingshot positions the UltraFly for riders entering wing foiling who want a board that travels easily and forgives early mistakes without sacrificing on-water feel. The 140 L size suits heavier riders or those in the earliest stages of learning, providing ample float for water starts and stability while getting comfortable with a wing. The 120 L works as a mid-range option for intermediate riders who have their water starts dialed and want a smaller platform that still offers generous volume. The 105 L targets lighter or more experienced riders who prioritize responsiveness and a tighter connection to the foil.

The inflatable format makes the UltraFly practical for travelers and riders without dedicated board storage. It packs down into the included travel bag and inflates with the bundled pump, eliminating the need for roof racks or oversized vehicle storage. The foot strap inserts support both offset and tri-strap configurations, letting riders customize their stance as their skills progress.

In the Lineup

The UltraFly is a first-generation (V1) product in Slingshot's inflatable foil board range. It sits alongside the I-Fly V1, which shares the inflatable format but uses a large carbon-fiber foil plate as its performance differentiator, while the UltraFly leans on the Rapid Release System and AeroSlim Frame for its identity. Below both in the progression path is the LTF V2, Slingshot's learn-to-fly board that includes rear fins and a center keel for riders still mastering basic winging skills before transitioning to a foil.

For buyers cross-shopping inflatable foil boards from other brands, the Fanatic Sky SUP Foil and Starboard AirPlane occupy similar territory — inflatable boards designed for wing foiling with an emphasis on packability. The UltraFly's Max Trax system and progressive thickness sizing are its primary distinguishing features within that competitive set.
