Overview
The Unifoil Progression Front Wing is a versatile hydrofoil front wing developed through a collaboration between foil designer Clifford Coetzer and prone foiling advocate Erik Antonson. The Progression line spans five sizes — 100, 125, 140, 170, and 200 — each engineered from the ground up rather than scaled from a single mold, so every size is individually tuned for its target performance envelope. The wing ships with a protective cover included.
The Progression series sits at the intersection of high-aspect glide and mid-aspect maneuverability, built to work across prone surfing, wing foiling, downwind paddling, SUP foiling, dock starts, and tow-in sessions. Its profile delivers low stall speeds and consistent pump efficiency while retaining enough curvature to carve smooth, rail-to-rail turns.

Who It's For
The Progression line covers a wide skill range. Larger sizes like the 170 and 200 suit riders who want early lift, forgiving stall characteristics, and extended glide — useful for beginners learning to pump, bigger riders who need more surface area, or average-weight riders chasing small-surf and light-wind sessions. The 200, in particular, works well for dock starts and SUP foiling where low-speed stability matters most.
Smaller sizes tilt toward experienced foilers. The 140 is oriented toward riders who want quicker directional changes, more responsiveness in overhead surf, or a livelier feel in stronger wind. The 125 pushes further into high-aspect territory with a 10:1 aspect ratio, trading low-end lift for speed, efficiency, and range. Across the lineup, stable pitch behavior and predictable roll make the Progression approachable relative to other wings at similar aspect ratios.
In the Lineup
Within Unifoil's catalog the Progression occupies the all-around crossover slot, sitting between the surf-oriented Vyper line and the race-focused Hyper series. Where the Vyper prioritizes tight turning in the wave face and the Hyper chases top-end speed, the Progression balances glide, pump, and maneuverability for riders who move between disciplines rather than specializing in one.
The series competes with other mid-to-high-aspect crossover wings such as the Armstrong MA series and the Axis ART line, both of which target a similar blend of pump efficiency and carving ability. Riders stepping up from a lower-aspect learner foil will find the Progression a natural next stage, while experienced riders can size down within the range as their pumping and wave-reading skills develop.
